Company Story

It all started back in 1980 when MD David was teaching small business owners how to do their bookkeeping at the local Technical College. Many small businesses on his courses sought his expertise beyond the classroom, leading him to establish his own accountancy services firm. Having worked, trained, and qualified with the highly respected KPMG in Leeds, David built a strong foundation in professional financial management.


Janice Edwards-Brown, originally a qualified teacher, also pursued and achieved her accountancy qualifications. Eventually, their son, Allan, became a Chartered Accountant, further strengthening DEB’s reputation. Today, DEB is a well-established family business providing expert accountancy to support UK businesses in managing their finances effectively.


DEB’s ethos is about supporting and advising UK business owners over financial and accountancy matters. DEB is also committed to technological innovation; we have pioneered our own accounting software and apps including:


  • Debonair Accountancy Software 
  • Deb Connect, our secure online client information system.
  • AccManager – Accounts processing progam used to explain the numbers to our clients 
  • Various other bespoke software to meet client needs.

Nearly a decade ago, we started our YouTube channel to inform businesses about accounting issues. It now has over 1.2k subscribers and from 6 to 41 k views on the most popular videos.

David

David, is a Chartered Accountant, a Chartered Tax Advisor, a Chartered Financial Planner, a qualified will writer, and is also a qualified trainer.   With over 45 years post qualifying experience can claim to being one of the most experienced accountants in his field.

Janice

Janice is a Chartered Accountant and a qualified teacher.  With over 35 years of experience, she is the go-to person for our clients who have problems that they need solving.

Simon

Simon is a Certified Accountant with over 35 years’ experience with DEB he has a wealth of knowledge and serves the needs of most of our largest clients.

Allan

Allan is a Chartered Accountant who also acts as a client manager for many of our clients.  Being very much a people person he is extremely popular amongst his clients
